Memories from a year ago

One of my favorite features on Facebook is the ability to see posts from years past on a particular day. Every day I get a notification showing me what I posted on that date in the past. It’s normally a nice little reminder of a fun event or whatever thoughts I may have been having at the time, but this year it reminds me of how different life was, even just one year ago.
A few days ago, I saw a photo I took in a sold-out Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo in 2019. I went to see New Japan Pro Wrestling’s “King of Pro Wrestling” event with my brother and his partner, who came to visit for a couple of weeks. On one hand, it was a great memory and I was reminded of how much fun we had cheering and screaming in the stands at an iconic sports venue. On the other hand, I couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional thinking about how we were able to experience things like that without having to worry about a pandemic.
Here’s one of the photos of two Japanese pro wrestling legends about to square off in what was an amazing match!
