Jellyfish

Jellyfish are some of the weirdest animals in the ocean. They don’t have brains, hearts, or bones, but they can still move and sting! Jellyfish are made up of 95% water, and their bodies are like squishy, clear balloons. Some jellyfish are small, but others can be very big. The lion’s mane jellyfish has tentacles that are longer than a bus!
One of the coolest things about jellyfish is their glow. Some jellyfish can glow in the dark! This is called bioluminescence. It helps them hide from predators or even find food in the deep, dark ocean.
Even though jellyfish might seem strange, they are important to ocean life. They help balance the food chain and provide food for other animals like sea turtles.
Next time you see a jellyfish, remember: it’s not just a squishy blob, but a fascinating creature!
