日本では、ハロウィンが終わるとクリスマス商戦に入ってしまうけれど、アメリカは11月の第4木曜日がサンクスギビングデイ。収穫祭。翌日がブラックフライデーで、ここからクリスマス商戦がスタート。ブラックフライデーは、小売店などで大規模な安売りが実施される。 アメリカ合衆国では感謝祭の翌日は正式の休暇日ではないが休暇になることが多く、ブラックフライデー当日は感謝祭プレゼントの売れ残り一掃セール日にもなっているらしい。写真は、外国人講師ジョンの地元ミシガン州を訪れた時の家庭料理です。

今日のように突然寒い日が来るとなかなか起きられませんね。

天気予報によると10月並みの気温の日や1月並みの気温の日が

これからしばらく入れ替わりで続くようで例年の11月、12月という気温は

しばらくないそうです。

学校等でもそろそろインフルエンザが流行りだすかもしれませんね。

体調管理には気を付けましょう。

Hey y’all!

  The past two Mondays I made my way to Kyoto to see the beautiful fall sights, and visit family!

  On the first Monday, I went to meet up with my Aunt and Uncle. They were traveling through Japan to celebrate my Aunt’s 60th birthday, and 35 years of marriage. I hadn’t seen them in such a long time, so it was truly a treat to see them. We of course went to Kiyomizu, Gion and Fushimi Inari. We even got see a small Maiko performance! 

   On the second Monday, Jeramine, Kohei and I took a quick trip to do even more sightseeing. On this trip we saw Higashi Honganji Temple, Kōdaiji Temple, Heian Shrine and Ryozen Kannon WWII Memorial.

  Both trips were such a treat! Not only was it awesome to meet up with my family, but it was also great to spend time with my friends. Also, the colors of Kyoto were absolutely incredible! If you have some time, I highly recommend y’all making it out west to see the Kyoto trees.

2019年度第2回の英検を受検した生徒の、二次試験の結果が届き始めました！

合格したけれど、「（合格の基準が）ギリギリだったから、次の級に行く前に、もう１回復習しなきゃ」と

話してくれた子がいます。大切なことですよね！！

中学生のみなさんは定期テストもあり忙しいと思いますが、うまく時間を作ってトライしていきましょう！

Paint-balling is something I never would have thought of experiencing in Japan. I’ve always been on the fence about going paint-balling and for good reason. When I use to think about it, all that would come to mind is getting hit with a little plastic ball and being covered in paint. I don’t like the idea of messing up my clothes, so this has always been a deterrent for me. Back home in Texas, my friends would always invite me to go with them, but I was always too busy with school or work to join them. Paint-balling is a pretty big hobby in Texas, and people spend a lot of money modifying their paint-ball guns, so they can have an advantage in the sport. I’ve was always a little curious about the game, but there just never seemed like the right opportunity for me to play it.  Fortunately for me, my co-workers invited me to go paint balling with them. I will admit I was a little afraid of being shot at, and even decided to wear 3 layers of clothes just to be safe! After our first match all that fear went away, and we had a lot of fun!. I think paint balling is amazing, and a good way to relieve some stress. It’s was a chance for me to forget about my worries and just have fun. Although, don’t over exert yourself, because you will feel it the next day! I was sore for a week afterwards! All in all it was a great time and good team building. Hopefully I will have an opportunity to do it again in the future!
