Hello everyone! My name is Nikki and I am so excited to be here! This is my first time in Japan, and so far it’s been amazing. I am originally from San Antonio Texas. When I left home on March first, it was already 21°C! It has been hard to adjust back to colder weather. I prefer warmer weather.
I was an Electronic Warfare Engineer before I came here. I was building computer-aided design models of aircraft and doing analysis on military radars. It was a fun job but I wanted to travel before I settle down with my career.
Back home I would like to spend my free time I like play video games on my Nintendo Switch, sewing, cooking and eating Mexican food! Now that I am living in Japan I want to spend my free time exploring, trying new food and GO SHOPPING!!!! I love cute fashion and stationary!

Hey y’all!
A few weeks ago, Jeramine and I volunteered with a group of tour guides that wanted to better their English abilities. These tour guides were especially cool because they were training to specialize in all things Gifu. For this specific trip though, they took us to Mitake and Gero. Mitake is famous for its beautiful vegetable sushi that look like flowers, and being a post station on the Nakasendō highway. Gero is most famous for its onsen, but it is also known for its sake brewery. During our trip, we got to make vegetable sushi, traditional Japanese sweets, and taste all kinds of sake. All while our tour guides shared their knowledge of each town. It was truly an amazing experience! I hope we get the opportunity to do it again soon.
See y’all in class!

Hello guys!
This is my last blog post, and it’s a little bitter-sweet. I’ve had an amazing time here in Japan and met a lot of amazing people. While here I’ve managed to do a lot of different things and try a lot of delicious foods! I’m glad I had the opportunity to come here and met you all.
Some of my favorite moments while being here in Japan would be going to Isse Jengyu for new years! which was a first for me and an exciting and unforgettable time. I also liked trying new foods with some of the new friends I made while being here.
