For the first time ever, I have spent new years in Japan. Usually when celebrating New Years I tend to be around a lot of family and we watch fireworks or the New years count down on T.V. It’s usually a time for use to gather and reflect on the year and how things have change or what changes we will make going into the new year. This year I spent New Years Eve with friends and we visited Ise Jengu while we waited for the new year. The shrine was filled with people, food stalls, and excitement. looking back on it, I was a little concerned about going because I don’t like being in crowded places, but I’m extremely glad that I went. I got to create new memories with my friends and eat tons of delicious foods. We even decided to stay up to see the first sunrise of 2020. This is most definitely a New Years that I won’t ever forget. I hope you all had an amazing New Year eve, and a wonderful new year.
Until next time.

Students in my classes would all know that I really love Christmas. My family has a lot of fun decorating the house, and my Mom usually puts up 3 trees! (A normal one, a gold one and a pink one.) This year, I didn’t go home to California so I wanted to do something exciting by myself. I went to Tokyo and stayed for a few days! It was quiet because most Japanese people were not on holiday until the next week. I stayed across from Tokyo Skytree and the Christmas lighting was cute. I went shopping and enjoyed a big city lifestyle again.
Happy New Year!

今年は子年(ねずみ年)!
英語で言うと、year of the rat ですね。

Hey Y’all! Luis here, and today I will continue my world tour diaries! Today we will talk a little about my home land, Mexico city! Mexico is such an amazing country with beautiful history and amazing food! I went last year to visit family after not going to Mexico for over 6 years because of life in America, and it was even more beautiful than I remember! I got to visit Teotihuacan, which is what the Aztecs built…and it’s so crazy to me how they built such beautifully designed contraptions with math and the stars and astrology and they have stood the test of time over the last couple of centuries.
