I always write these blogs about sports.  I love sports.  Watching sports is one of the most important things to me, and I love watching all different kinds of sports – basically anything that isn’t golf.  As a fan of a number of sports, the end of the summer is probably my favorite time of the year.  Baseball season is still going on, European soccer seasons are just getting started, American football is starting, and basketball and hockey are right around the corner.  On top of that there are often MMA events going on and lots of e-sports tournaments are being held as well.  

So on weekends, I can enjoy sports basically all day!  My son is almost three years old and, while I won’t push him to play a sport unless he wants to, I enjoy being able to share my hobbies with him.  On weekends, he always says “I want to watch baseball!” so I like to make breakfast and sit on the couch with him and watch for a little bit.  This time of year always makes me happy, and I’ll be enjoying it for as long as it lasts in 2019!

毎年スプリングブレイクでは大リーグ観戦をしますが、2020年はスケジュールがあいません。そこで、初！NBAを観戦することにしました。アトランタには「アトランタホークス」というNBAチームがあります。3月31日に「ニューオリンズペリカンズ」と対戦します。スプリングブレイクは、個人旅行ではいけないような様々な場所を訪れ、夢のような経験もします。また、地元の学校で授業を受けたり、2泊3日のホームステイも経験できます。興味のある高校1年生の君、今度の春はいっしょにアメリカに飛び立とう！！

今日もスプリングブレイクの紹介をさせていただきます。

ハローズでは、春休みの２週間で高校生を対象としたアメリカ研修「スプリングブレイク」を行っています。

来年、2020年のスプリングブレイクでは、ニューヨーク・ジョージア州・フロリダ州を訪れます。

今日はニューヨークで訪問するマンハッタンについて紹介します。

マンハッタンとはニューヨークの中にある地区の名前ですが、みなさんがニューヨークと聞いて思い浮かべる場所がここ、マンハッタンです。

超高層ビル群、セントラルパーク、タイムズスクエアはすべてこのマンハッタンにあります。

スプリングブレイクでもタイムズスクエアを訪れ、生徒のみなさんにはグループで自由行動をしてもらう予定です。

涼しくなってきたかと思えば、台風が来て。

そしてその後にはまた暑さが厳しくなり、

ニュースにもなっていましたね。

Hey y’all! 

   Of course of summer vacation my boyfriend, Thad, came to Japan from Texas! I hadn’t seen him since I was home last December, so I was really excited to see him! Over the course of two weeks, him and I went to Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka. Obviously I took him to see all the sights such as Kiyomizu-dera, Dotonbori, Sakae, Shibuya and Harajuku. The best experience by far was having a private dinner at a chefs house in Tokyo. Thanks to AirBnB, we were able to arrange a five course meal with a chef that had worked in Ginza for over 10 years. All of the courses were absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was just perfect! 

   Overall, this much needed trip was truly one to remember. It was just really nice to share Japan with Thad.
