Despite the name the Austin Pecan festival is not about Pecans. This festival is one that is surrounded by musicians preforming and vendors selling homemade goods and wears along the famous 6^th street (formally named Pecan street) in Austin. This festival happens bi-annually (twice a year) and is one of Austin’s oldest festival ( began in 1978). This festival is open to the public and has tons of delicious food stands. I’ve been to this festival tons of tons growing up, and it a nice place to go listen to live music. A lot of the vendors are nice and friendly and it’s a good place to make friends if you go. However, if you do decided to go just know that it can be very hot, so be sure to dress lightly and perhaps even bring your own water!

みなさんこんにちは。いよいよ梅雨が明けて夏本番ですね。

今日はハローズの新しい先生のマリアムを紹介したいと思います。

マリアムは韓国で英語を教えていた経験があったり、大都会ニューヨークに住んで

いた経験があったりとお話していると驚かされることがたくさんあります。

大垣本部校では小学1年生の子どもたちに大人気で毎週のレッスンがすごく

にぎやかです！

This week I was happy to hear about the students’ summer vacation plans! Even if you stay at home during the break, it can still be fun.

This summer vacation I will go to Korea and visit friends. I will stay in Seoul but I will try to visit the countryside a bit, too! Korea is usually even hotter and more sweaty than Japan in the summer, so it will be tough to spend long days outside but it will also be worth it!

いよいよ夏らしい天気になってきましたね。

もくもくと空に広がる入道雲、太陽に向かって咲くひまわりを見ると

夏がやってきたなと思います。

日本の夏は湿度も高く、ジメジメとした暑さに参ってしまいますが、

水分補給をしっかりして、この夏を楽しく有意義に乗り越えましょう！

This weekend I went to Tokyo, specifically to Nakano Broadway to check out my favorite artist Takashi Murakami’ coffee shop and store! Takashi is probably one of the biggest contemporary artists to come out of Japan and his work is widely known wordwide! He is known to collaborate with museums over the world, as well as big artist such as Kanye West and brand like Louis Vuitton. Yet, his work is so simple, it is a smiling flower! This weekend I went to the coffee shop and ordered a green tea latte from the store and it was so delicious, I would definitely go back!
